Nerveblocker

Inferior alveolar nerve block trainer

Checking headset

Practise the inferior alveolar nerve block

A real mandible in 3D, a syringe you position yourself, and an assessment of what your attempt would have done to the patient. Free, no account, in the browser or in VR.

How it works
  1. 1

    Place the needle

Set the entry point in the pterygomandibular triangle and swing the barrel over the contralateral premolars.

  2. 2

    Advance and deposit

Advance until the needle meets the ramus, withdraw about a millimetre, then deposit.

  3. 3

    Read the assessment

Compare your deposit with the ideal trajectory, the mandibular foramen and the canal, and read the clinical consequence of each error.

Desktop and VR

The same scene runs in a WebXR headset, where bone contact arrives as a haptic tick instead of an on-screen cue. Open this page in a headset browser and the trainer will offer to enter VR.
